Rough winter for the Whitetail Deer

Kinda makes you wonder how they survive brutal winters. I can remember one year when there was so much snow that the deer would come and eat the hedges just outside my bedroom window because food was pretty scarce.

With that three feet of snow we got almost two weeks ago it has melted down a little bit but we are expected to get another 6 to 8 inches tomarrow night.

  1. Deer are tough. It is unbelievable what they can go through and survive. @ years ago when we got hit with 2 feet of snow in IL. I thought the same things you did. Surprisingly to me it didn't seem to effect the heard other than having to scavage for food.

  2. Trail The Outdoors, that is probably another reason why I am so fascinated with them.
